The thing I don’t understand is that many of the Republicans in our community profess to be Christians. The Republicans complain that the Federal Government pays too much to help the poor, educate our people, feed children, provide medical care for the sick and protect the week. That doesn’t sound like the teachings of Jesus Christ to me. Christ spoke of peace, helping the needy, healing the sick and condemning the money changers. You can try to fool me with your crocodile tears, but Jesus knows that you are greedy and consider the poor a nuisance.

I feel certain most of you have no clue what liberalism is.

Beautifully articulated rant, and more power to you, but I wonder how many apostates you are actually managing to create. Because that's your primary objective, right? As far as atheists like me are concerned, well, you're preaching to the (un-)converted, aren't you? But in my experience, the brainwashed religious nongs are just that - brainwashed - and no amount of logical argument will make any headway. They are just too stupid, by and large. I wish you luck though.

Yeah, Donny b, right on. Nothing liberal here, even though he's essentially right about "religion," especially the current American bizarre version of fundamentalism. He's hardly much better than that crowd as a thinker---certainly reveals his own shallowness, his unpoetic naivete. He's FUNNY! Love to see him do a duet with Bill Maher.

If you want a good scare look up God's boot camp on the web. Theses people are dangerous. They are warriors for god. They think we are worthless if we are not saved. The only good that is accepted by god is being saved. People like Gandhi and all good people are going to hell because they aren't saved. The unsaved can't go to heaven no mater how good they are. These people are sick

Thank you for this refreshing commentary. If only the rest of the world starts to understand religion for what it really is ... utter waste of time!!! Peace!

It's interesting to me, Donny b, that you compare this guy to Glenn Beck, who is a known bible-thumper. Your logic is deeply flawed. Could it be that you're a bible-thumper too? Is your hatred that "christian love" we've all heard so much about?

New new material here, though I agree with pretty much all of it.
