I remember sitting in the pew as a child and singing Amazing Grace. Got to the part about "that saved a wretch like me" and in my little mind thinking that no, I'm NOT a wretch. How dare you?? I may not be perfect, and I've gotten into my share of trouble growing up, but I'm no wretch! I didn't drink the kool-aid and my life has been better for it!

Good speech. I agree especially about original sin. I remember looking at my new-born daughter and seeing nothing but perfection. Whatever vestigial, stunted belief in Christianity I had died with her birth.
I love how the bible can justify anything you want - divorce is ok or not, violence is ok or not.
I wish they would hurry up and go and live with their imaginary friend and make this world a better place for the rest of us.

GLAD to see my buddy PAT CONDEL appreciated by the group! I am Godless but my LIBERAL friends all hated me cuz i was virulently anti-NYC mosque. Search P condels NO to mosque at ground zero. You cannot be Godless and then tolerate the WORST religion, ever.
