Dr. James Thrall, radiologist-in-chief at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and president of the American College of Radiology, told MedPage Today that the chances of a consequential radiation exposure from the Japanese disaster anywhere in the U.S. is "essentially zero."

I'm not talking about Goodman as a personality here. I'm talking about DemocracyNOW! as a news organization. Here is the problem: DN IS one of the only outlets covering very important stories that are passively censored by oth...er US outlets. So, when they seduce themselves into sensationalizin g a story, when they put up a graphic that has nothing to do with the story, they leave themselves open to skepticism, which is MY position, if not outright dismissal. I want to trust them, but when they do this stuff, I back off. :-*

that's not what I'm hearing from Scientific American, the LA Times, Washington Post, etc. And THAT is NOT a photo of the nuke plant; it's a photo of the oil refinery! THIS is why I no longer listen to DemocracyNOW!: that Chicken Little hysteria disempowers and frightens people needlessly! The situation in Japan is urgent and serious enough without hyperbole and wild speculation.

Hartmann has a dog in the no nukes fight (so do I, btw) and so does Free Speech TV. And so does DemocracyNOW! about whose program I just responded, and I believe it applies here, too:
