I often wonder at the differences between America and the rest of the world; the propagation of the "American Dream" could be the most toxic idea ever spread. It's an ideal, not an instantly achievable right. The Tea Party believe it is, and the republicans are happy to let them.

Tea Party members certainly see themselves in a temporary position of poverty. After all, when they reach heaven they'll finally have a full set of teeth and finally learn how to make a sign without any misspelled words.
Hence, there's no need to invest in publically-funded health care & public education on earth , as they are merely wasteful expenditures.
