Why would you assume that the statement is atheist in origin. Perhaps there are those who believe in a "higher power," but are not bible literalists or maybe just feel that child abuse is wrong regardless of their religious or non-religious convictions.

I could easily list some Atheist ideas that seem illogical to me.... "the universe was created ex nihilo? there was no prime mover?, but I am not interested in converting anyone, everyone needs to look inside themselves and find the truth. If you have found yours in atheism I respect that belief and wish you well,I will not judge you, I do not consider it a reflection of your intellect or character, Is it asking to much to expect the same in return

Religion is not synonymous with ignorance. Some Christians actually believe in evolution (read Inherit the Wind or at least watch the movie)reproduct ive freedom for women and gay marriages, I believe that Christ would have felt the same way. It never ceases to amaze me how that a group of people think that they can attack the cruelty and intolerance of misguided Christians by being cruel and intolerant themselves. God Bless You
