But we still need to make home-cooked meals considering the obesity epidemic in the US. My husband actually loves to cook. Other than that, we should honor and respect "women's" work, instead of trying to eliminate it. It's not that women shouldn't care for the home and family, necessarily, but we need to see and respect the benefits to society which that work provides. Someone's gotta do child and elder care, for example. Men, please share in doing this work, too. But we all need to eat healthy and nourishing meals, clean and organize the house, and care for family and friends. Women deserve credit for care-giving. This work does not necessarily preclude them from attaining academic and professional goals. Domestic work does not automatically equal female apartheid, but it could in many settings.
