May be that's supposed to be funny.
I'll take this opportunity to point out a commonality among "middle America and lower-income America, their income has not gone up, and they are the people giving the gifts." (source: knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/.../) The majority (71%)of philanthropists are individuals and not large corporations.
May be a little off topic but it's food for thought.
